At a Regular Council Meeting in June, Mayor Chavez expressed interest in meeting
and getting to know some of the new and veteran volunteer firefighters. She
appreciates the tremendous service they perform for the Village and for the
community. Fire Chief Dave Bezy extended the invitation to the Mayor and Council
to come up on a Regular Wednesday meeting night and spend a little social time.
This was also an opportunity to see the station's new furnishings recently installed
by Goodman's Interior Structures. So on July 30, Mayor Chavez and the Councilors
stopped by. The Mayor was presented with about $350 raised for the Veterans
Memorial by the firefighters the previous weekend during a boot drive. The Chiefs
brought out the fire trucks for a look. A great time was had by all!
